About iOpenner
A passion for AI. A practical purpose.
I’m John Finch, the founder of iOpenner.
Before my stroke, I spent more than 20 years at Steelcase Inc. as a Senior Applications Engineer, working in automation.
More than eight years ago, I had a stroke that changed my life. I live with aphasia and am unable to speak. That makes spoken conversations impossible for me, but I can share my ideas, knowledge, and experience through writing and technology.
After my stroke, I became an AI tools expert. AI has become a passion of mine—and a way to put my automation experience and AI expertise to work helping other business owners.

Why I created iOpenner
Running a business means spending hours on work that needs doing: answering questions, following up with customers, preparing quotes, organizing information, and handling the same tasks again and again.
I created iOpenner to help business owners see where simple AI tools could make those tasks easier.
I help business owners reclaim 5-10 hours per week by implementing 1 to 7 simple off the shelf AI tools.
To be clear: the assessment is guidance, not done-for-you implementation. Tools, setup, and subscriptions are not included, and actual savings are not guaranteed.
My approach starts with understanding your business: what you do, which tools you already use, and where your time goes. From there, the goal is to identify useful improvements and give you a clear path to getting started.
Sometimes one well-chosen tool is enough. Sometimes a few tools working together make more sense.
How I share my expertise
Because I cannot conduct a spoken interview myself, iOpenner uses an AI voice agent to guide you through a conversation about your business.
You speak naturally about your work, your challenges, and what you want to improve. That conversation provides the information needed for your assessment and personalized recommendations.
This lets me provide my expertise through a process that works for both of us. You get to explain your business in your own words, and I can contribute through analysis, written recommendations, and practical guidance.
What matters to me
Technology has opened possibilities in my own life. I want to help you find useful possibilities in yours.
With iOpenner, the focus is on recommendations you can understand, tools you can realistically use, and improvements you can measure. Your assessment explains where to start, what the tools could cost, and what implementing them would involve.
The aim is straightforward: spend less time on repetitive work and have more time for your customers, your business, and your life.
Let’s find where you could reclaim time.
